CLA by SWAN
Swan Life Essentials CLA is derived from safflower oil. Safflowers are a thistle-like plant similar in appearance to a dandelion. They are traditionally harvested for production of vegetable oil. Safflowers can grow anywhere from 12 to 59 inches tall and have yellow, red or orange petals. They thrive in environments with dry temperatures and seasonal rain.
The safflower plant is thought to be one of the oldest crops to this day with evidence of them as far back as 2500 BC in Mesopotamia. They are ready for harvest around 30 days after flowering when the petals turn brown and begin to fall off. The seeds are extracted and stored to be properly dried before being made into oil.
The consumption of CLA has many possible benefits:
Researchers suggest that CLA can be used to combat body fat. In some studies, CLA was used to reduce hunger, increase fat burning, stimulate the breakdown of fat and impede production of fat. Those who consume high amounts of CLA are at a lower risk for type 2 diabetes and heart disease.Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, CLA is thought to be an immune booster. Anti-inflammatories help to fight off infection and illness to promote a healthier immune system. CLA increases the body’s absorption of calcium meaning CLA can help maintain strong, healthy bones. It also helps eliminate osteoclasts that break down bone cells.
